Biography 

Cheng-Mu Tsai was born in Tainan, Taiwan, in 1974. He received the B.S. degree from the Department of Electronic Engineering at the National Taiwan University of Science and Technology in 1999, and the M.S. and Ph.D. degrees from the Department of Electrical Engineering at the National Cheng Kung University (NCKU), Taiwan, in 2001 and 2006, respectively. Currently, he is a professor with the Graduate Institute of Precision Engineering in the National Chung Hsing University (NCHU), Taiwan. His research interests are mainly in the areas of optical system design, optical communications and optical information processing.
